This is absolutely breathtaking! bravo! I cannot stop staring at it. the colors and light are amazing. and the simplicity of the single monolith in the center makes for a fantastic image
Fantastic image. I don’t think I’ve quite seen a composition like this before, in which the top third and bottom third have some negative space between them.. works well though!
Did it again George. Good gracious those colors are amazing. I can’t get over the clarity and the fantastic sun rays. Love the silhouette and the way the clouds point right to it. Makes me jealous and inspired all at the same time. Great stuff.
What an awesome photograph George. You really need to be there at the exact point of time to get such a brilliant light. What lens are you using here.
Thank you Girish. In the spirit of the blog title, I only use one lens, the 24 – 105mm, and according to the EXIF data I shot it at 24mm – the 5D has a full frame sensor so it really is 24mm…george.
Fabulous quote for this image, George! I see you have the same lens I have, the 24-105. It used to be my everyday lens until I started using my 28-300 (much bigger but one I manage to hold for long periods of time). But I will never, never get rid of the trusty 24-105! It’s a beauty.
You’re absolutely right Ginnie. With the full-frame 5D it’s the perfect lens, even if it does have a little imperfection in the corners at full aperture…george
