The stupid little bird I believe is a common grey heron. They are rather good at catching fish. Fishermen used to catch them and cut their legs off to wave in the water because they thought the heron had some chemical in their legs and or feet that attracted the fish.
I want to know how long did it take to pose him/her at the apex of the sand bar?
