Bantry House in County Cork was built at the beginning of the 18th Century, and was the first stately home in Ireland to open to the public during the 1940’s. Unfortunately the garden had fallen into a rather sorry state after great neglect over many years, but in 1997, after the offer of EEC grant, the decision was taken to start restoration work on the garden. It’s a common enough story on the island and happily the results of this renovation are a delight.
I think the reconstruction has been very professional I love the houses in this style, with the ivy that covers the facade of the building, a magnificent picture enhanced by the strong Irish colors green and blue with a depth that allows you to enjoy the view.
Wow…great colors. I wonder what a person does when they live in such a big house. I can imagine moving all of my things into one room and slowly making my way into the other rooms. This is an awesome capture.

Yes thank goodness that decision was made. It would have been barren otherwise. Few places on earth now have so much vegetation. More need it as well.
Nice sharp shot. Like the sky a lot.
