The setting of St. Carthage’s Cathedral in Lismore, County Waterford is dominated by the castle in my previous post. And it’s in the gardens of that castle that Edmund Spenser is said to have penned his allegorical celebration of the virtues – “The Faerie Queene”.
Half a century later, the myth inspired one of my favourite artists – the Pre-Raphaelite – Edward Burne-Jones to design two magnificent stained glass windows for the Cathedral. The windows represent the virtues of truth, justice, liberty, prudence, knowledge, love, faith and humility.
really nice details in the window structure, and interesting play of light on the side… in photos like that & architecture shots I always think about stretching it a bit using photoshop, but finally I never do…

The subject is not my favorite one. But all the details and the capture of the light are gorgeous !
