I’d like to hear your thoughts on why you chose this composition. Just a random shot or method to your madness? Seems like there’s a dark area going up the right and the cool/warm contrast in the upper left forming the main elements of the composition. Really interesting to look at.
Matt…thanks for your comment, but no method and no madness this time. I was trying to get order from chaos in the subject, I’m not sure if I did, but I found the pattern to be delightful, so I thought I’d let other folks draw their own conclusions. Photographing rock is one of those projects that can be done under dull, flat, boring skies in winter when there’s little else inspiring. So there will be a little more rock ‘no’ roll, over the next couple of days!
Very, very cool. It’s hard to tell what kind of scale this is on – large, small, in between? Great work in any case, the shadows really bring out the texture.

I like the saturated feel of this, George, especially the yellow, which really makes this image for me.

I agree with Matt above, it’s an intriguing composition and works well. The chaotic lines from all the sharp edges work well, too.
