Minimalistics
In the beginning…
I’ve been a professional photographer for over 30 years. The first five, working on a newspaper and later in an advertising studio shooting company reports, brochures and above-the-line advertising. Following that the studio morphed into a stock photo agency – Slidefile that I co-directed. Apart from the usual managerial duties, I liaised with photographers and edited thousands of their images in my role as picture editor; in addition shot stock photography for the agency (when I was let out) for use in calendars, magazines and books.
Later…
I established a specialist Irish agency, but sold it a couple of years ago after coming to the conclusion that a small, one-person agency was no longer viable in an age of on-line stock. Part of the deal, however included the sale of my entire photographic archive up to 2007 – and it took a couple of years to build up my new archive to sufficient numbers to be able to start Minimalistics.
Now…
I run residential, photographic workshops for novice and advanced photographers on the Copper Coast in Ireland’s County Waterford, details of which can be found here.
